Bigger Motor, Longer Coil, More Impact

The new 700 “G” Revision includes major upgrades to the motor: longer coils, thicker top-plate / deeper gap, and increased magnet assembly. These features result in continuous excursion capability, long-term thermal outflow, and enhanced voice coil control for a louder, cleaner, more forceful output, extending the Xmax to 26mm on the 10 inch each way.

The mean mother “F” revision of Power Tuned Subwoofers are among DD’s most popular. They were made to get loud, play hard, and go long with a Dual Stage Aluminum Heat Sink, Free Flow Cooling System, tall surrounds double stitched to fiberglass loaded non-pressed cones, and multiple double layer spiders. Available in 10”, 12”, and 15” drivers, the 700f Series were already a perfect, and versatile choice for anyone wanting to bang out hard-hitting bass notes, and that’s exactly why they deserve the performance enhancements offered in the new “G” Revision.

Longer coils enable longer strokes, pushing more air in each cycle for high-impact, low-frequency response. To accommodate the longer voice coil, the top plate was made to be thicker with a deeper gap, preserving consistent force further into each stroke while improving coil control, especially as the driver is pushed toward the upper end of the subwoofer bandwidth. The thicker top plate also adds thermal mass and surface area to absorb and dissipate heat, while the deeper gap gives more tolerance for thermal expansion without sacrificing that control. Backing it all up is a larger magnet assembly, delivering the added motor force needed to keep those longer coils firmly in check throughout the extended stroke.

In true DD fashion we’re always challenging what is already great to make it even better.
