The 800 Series have always been designed for the serious enthusiast to take systems to another level, the “f” revision goes to a new level, playing louder and longer. We have upgraded the entire system, maxxed the flux density of the massive 25mm thick top plate, increased thermal out flow, excursion, durability and overall meanness.

The biggest update with the “f” revision was the Dual Stage Aluminum Heat Sink. Previously the two biggest cooling methods came via the aluminum basket, which can transfer absorbed heat from the system, and the Free Flow Cooling System, which uses vents to cycle out hot air from the system. The ‘Dual Stage’ advantage of this new feature is an aluminum pole piece insert connected to a backplate mounted heat sink made to transfer heat away from the upper stage of the motor, conducting it to external fins where it can radiate through the channeled air.

This newest rendition also features a 25mm top plate thickness with longer voice coil winding lengths, increasing Xmax to 31mm, to keep more coil wire in the gap at all times. More coil wire surrounded by both motor steel and billet aluminum work to pull more heat from the coil, optimizing thermal efficiency in long term usage.

Increased Xmax and excursion needed enhancements to the moving system, like taller surrounds that are double stitched to fiberglass loaded non-pressed cones and spiders refined to fully optimize the new motor design. Double layer, multiple spiders with integrated multi-tinsel leads continue the DD tradition of long term durability.
